S.Uma would be giving an Introduction to Piping engineering with all involved Engineering activities as applied to different Industries. An introduction would also be given to the applicable International Codes and Standards – where compliance to those is mandatory.
Various Elements of the Piping industry like Material Selection and Metallurgy, different components used, drawing generation, stress calculations and different software used to accomplish design goals would be briefed. Technological advances happening in the industry like Fatigue Analysis/Dynamic Analysis/Transient Fluid flow Analysis, 3D Model Generation and Walk through creation / animation and Pipe Line Maintenance would be presented.

About the Speaker

Swaminatha Uma is a Mechanical  Engineer  from University of Madras with  22  years  of  professional experience in Piping  Design  and  Engineering  -  more specifically in Oil and Gas Industry. She has got strong design background in other industries like, Power Plant, Refinery, Petrochemicals, Polymer and Chemical plants. With her working experience, Uma has got a specialization in Stress and Fatigue analysis of Piping Systems with reference to critical industries like Power Plant, offshore platforms etc.
