Engineering Seminar Series 19/2_2010: Exploring Opportunities with LED and Power Line Communication

Dr Naing Win Oo

Date: 2010-10-20
Time: 14:15 to 14:30
Venue: 9-3-05

Rising demand with diminishing reserve of oil spread the energy crisis and the energy-saving approaches appear to be one of the major solutions. This talk introduces Light Emitting Diode (LED) as one of the leading energy-saving research areas. By combining LEDs with Power Line Communication, which utilize existing power lines as communication medium, the energy-saving effect could be magnified. The new research directions arisen from this combination are also to be discussed in this talk.
