Enrolment guide for New Students - February 2013 intake
Congratulations on your success in gaining a place in Monash University to study for the Bachelor of Engineering. There are a number of choices to be made in the selection and sequencing of the units of the first year of your choice. These can be easily resolved by following the notes in this section.

Taking into consideration the pre-requisites, co-requisites, core units and recommended electives, the following is the recommended enrolment for Feb 2013 intake students:
* ENG1020, ENG1030, ENG1040 and ENG1061 are highly recommended elective units and therefore, pre-selected for you together with the core units.
** The remaining selection of electives will depend on which branch of engineering is of your interest and accordance to the recommended units shown in the Recommended Units table.
*** CHM1051 Chemistry 1 Advanced:
Students who intend to major in Chemical Engineering are highly recommended to enrol CHM1051 as one of the level one electives.
This unit assumes a background in VCE/ Year 12 / MUFY/ Pre-university Chemistry or equivalent (CHM1051 is a substitute unit for ENG1071 Chemistry for Engineering)
Note: Availability/offering of elective units will depend upon sufficient enrolments.

Course Enrolment Form
Submission of the Course Enrolment Form is compulsory to ensure that your enrolment is recorded in the student database. Please download the Course Enrolment Form (Feb 2013 intake) and submit the completed form to the Course Management Office, School of Engineering, Building 5 Level 4 by 25th Feb 2013.
New students who have been granted credits based on prior studies should make an appointment to see the respective Discipline Head as advised in the Letter of Credits issued. After seeking course advice from the Discipline Head, they are also required to submit the Course Enrolment Form with Credits to the Course Management Office, School of Engineering.
Timetabling
Upon receipt of the Course Enrolment Form, the School of Engineering will enroll the units for the new students. Once the units are enrolled, new students will be able to do timetable allocation via Allocate+.
Orientation week (Feb 2013 intake): 25 Feb - 1 Mar 2013 Feb/Semester 1*: 4 Mar - 31 May 2013

E&CS = Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering
IE&EM = Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management
^ IE&EM, and Materials Engineering are only offered at Clayton campus.
